February 9 Cabin Fever Luncheon.  Soroptimist International of Saratoga County hosts this annual event as a fundraiser for their terrific organization dedicated to improving lives of women and girls locally and worldwide.   This year's featured speaker is Dawn Hayman, author and animal communicator, that will present 'If Only They Could Talk'.  Saturday, February 9 at noon at The Gideon Putman Hotel in Saratoga Springs.  For more information and  reservations, call (518) 522-8108 or email cabinfeverinfo@gmail.com.   
  22-24 New York in Bloom at the New York State Museum.  New York State Museum's annual fundraiser event. Outstanding floral exhibits, lectures and demonstrations. March 15 Triple Header: New, Unusual, & Underused Perennials and other Remarkables; Creative Container Gardening; and Discover Your Inner Self through Gardening. Saturday, March 15 at The Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia, 9:00 a.m. - noon followed by a gourmet hot luncheon buffet. April 4 & 5 Fifth Annual Great Gardens and Landscaping Symposium.  Held at the world-class Equinox Resort in Manchester, VT.   Five nationally and regionally renown speakers will share their tricks-of-the-trade on The Art of Garden Design, New Perennials for 2008, Creating Focal Points In The Garden, Sensational Flowering Shrubs, Step-by-Step Organic Vegetable and Flower Gardening, and All About Annuals.  Dynamic lectures will energize your approach to gardening. Exchange ideas with other passionate gardeners, meet and greet the speakers, book signings, super handouts, great food, and exciting door prizes.   8 Double Header: The Plant Collector's Corner AND Decorating Your Home and Gardens with Style. Tuesday, April 8 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Genevieve's Home and Garden Décor in Ballston Spa. Christi Kerls-Tacy, owner of Genevieve's Home and Garden Decor, and I will team up for an exciting garden program. Christi will share her expert tips on using ornaments in your gardens and home for breathtaking effects as well as how to create vanishing thresholds between outside and in. I will then introduce you to some unique, collectable plants to transform your gardens from ho-hum to EXTRAORDINARY.
