Gordon Hayward is a nationally
recognized garden designer, writer and lecturer from
southern Vermont. He and his wife Mary
(who grew up across the fields from The Hidcote
Manor Gardens in the North Cotswold
Hills of England) moved in 1977 to the North
Cotswolds where Gordon restored the
gardens at The Manor House in Broadwell for a
year.
Since 1984, when Gordon turned full-time to garden writing, designing
and lecturing,
he and Mary have been developing a 1 1/2 acre garden around their 225
year old farmhouse near Putney, Vermont as well as a tiny garden
around their cottage in Blockley in Gloucestershire, five miles from
where Mary grew up. Gordon is the author of ten books on garden
design; he also wrote for Horticulture Magazine for 25 years and for
Fine Gardening
Magazine for 15 years. He is now a contributing editor at Organic
Gardening Magazine. Gordon will present Your House, Your Garden: A
Foolproof Approach to Good Garden Design and Fine Paintings as
Inspiration for Garden Design. Both dynamic presentations are
complemented with colorful slide presentations and handouts. Gordon's
website is:
